Work Continues to Restore Food to 700 Customers in Sudbury after a Storm Monday
City Staff Clean Up All Slashed Trees and Power Lines in the Most Affected Areas of the New -Sudbury could take days, even weeks.
On Monday, a powerful storm swept through Sudbury. Environment Canada says the system is clbadified as microburst or direct wind damage.
Despite significant damage, no serious injuries were reported.
Joseph Nicholls, Chief of Greater Sudbury Fire and Emergency Services. the service was flooded with nearly 60 calls after the storm.
"For four and a half hours, they were just calling to call to call," he said.
"So we saw power lines falling from trees felled, people trapped in elevators, pole lights, electric wires on vehicles trapped in vehicles, so it was a very dangerous scenario."
