Boy, age 2, missing near northwestern Alberta

A two-year-old boy disappeared while he was with his family near a northwestern river in Alberta on Friday night

RCMP, Air Ambulance STARS and a search and rescue team from Grande Prairie responded to the Wapiti River at approximately 1700. and began research at Canfor Bridge.

The police canceled the search at 11 pm and resumed at 7 pm

On Saturday, the search for the boy, Myles, was enlarged by more than 100 meters in the tree line on both sides of the banks and eight kilometers downstream.

"It rains regularly all day" Cst. Melanie McIntosh said. "The banks are very high and slippery, but we are working hard and we will continue to work.

There were three boats and 20 to 30 people searching at all times, the RCMP said.
