York Regional Police say the pilot of a small plane that crashed on Thursday night near Buttonville Airport is dead.
Agents told Global News that the Markham teams and police were called on the southwestern side of the airport. 8 pm The plane crashed just outside the airport property.
Police said the pilot died on the scene. A spokesman said that on Thursday night there was no report that anyone else was on board.

A spokesperson for the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) stated that investigators were aware of the crash and on the scene to gather evidence.
Police spokesman said officers would provide badistance to TSB investigators as needed
The circumstances that led to the crash are unclear.
