Enter the Gungeon is a majestic two years now, but the developer Dodge Roll is not content to let it fade into the sunset for the moment. They are planning a major update for over a year now, and they are almost ready to trigger it.
The extension calls, appropriately, Advanced Gungeons & Draguns, which is in keeping with the game's preference for wordplay on the nose. Dodge Roll says it includes "hundreds" of new pieces, dozens of new weapons, more weapons, more items and types of ammo. The developers also say that the drop rates will be more generous, which is certainly welcome – Gungeon vanilla could easily feel quite stingy when it comes to distributing wacky weapons.

If you are not familiar with Enter the Gungeon, it's a hellish shoot-hunt of rogue thugs in the vein of The Binding of Isaac, just with less childhood trauma and more references to popular movies and video games. When you take a new gun at Gungeon, there is a good chance that it will be a visual gag or a loving tribute to one of his gaming brothers.
Advanced Gungeons & Draguns will continue this tradition. They added the Destiny Gjallarhorn to the mix, for example
The best part is that the Advanced Gungeons & Draguns expansion is completely free if you own the game. Dodge Roll did the same thing with the latest expansion, Supply Drop, which was released in January 2017.
Take a look at Steam for more details. Advanced Gungeons and Draguns should be available Thursday, July 19th.
