Ray Frenette, former Liberal minister and former Premier of New Brunswick, died at the age of 83.
Premier Brian Gallant expressed his sympathy on Saturday in a statement on behalf of the provincial government.

Gallant stated that Frenette served him as a mentor and advisor when he was considered for the first time as having entered the public service.
"He had so much knowledge and his advice was precious, he was generous with his advice and so wise," he said.
