  The Polaris Music Prize Reveals the Short List of 2018

After announcing the 40 long-term albums, the Polaris Music Prize unveiled the list of 2018 finalists.

Composed of 10 finalists, the full list includes Daniel Caesar, Partner, Hubert Lenoir, Jeremy Dutcher, Weaves, American Girls and more. You can find the complete list below.

An artist from the band will be awarded the title of best Canadian album, in addition to a cash prize of $ 50,000. The nine finalists will each receive $ 3,000.

The short list was selected by the same panel of industry professionals, journalists and music critics who picked the long list. The albums named on the lists are selected "solely on the basis of artistic merit, regardless of genre sales or records."

The winner of the Polaris Music Prize 2018 will be chosen by a grand jury on the evening of the Gala . This will take place at Carlu in Toronto on September 17th.
