MOSCOW – Prosecutors in Kazakhstan say Olympic figure skating medalist Denis Ten has been killed, and that they treat the case as a murder.
Kazakh news agencies report that Ten was stabbed after attempting to steal a mirror. from his car
Doctors from the city of Almaty say that he died at the hospital there. He was 25 years old.
Born in Kazakhstan to a family of Korean descent, Ten won bronze at the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014, becoming Kazakhstan's first figure skating medalist.
He has also won the four-continent championships He has battled injuries in recent years and could only manage 27th at the Pyeongchang Olympics in February
