The creation of 360-degree videos has become one of the most popular entry points in content creation for virtual reality (VR). The number of cameras and editing tools available has made it an attractive option, and the introduction of the VR180 format by Google has been designed to facilitate the creation of VR content. Google is now partnering with VR Scout and YouTube to bring a series of VR180 training sessions called VR Creator Lab in Europe.
Google has now announced that one of the first VR180 sessions will be held in London, UK, including three "training camp" in September 2018.
VR Creator Lab participants will receive up to $ 40,000 (USD) in funding for their VR project, as well as the aforementioned training camp, participants will have access to three months of training provided by leading instructors and filmmakers of the RV.
YouTube creators with at least 10,000 subscribers and independent filmmakers can apply. Participants must be over 18 years old. Google selects participants based on the quality of the field and the feasibility of the proposed project within three months.
Applications for the VR Creator Lab can be found on the Google Creator Lab website. Entries will be open until 5:00 pm (BST) on August 6, 2018. The London VR Creator Lab Training Camp will take place from September 18 to 20, 2018.
The London VR Creator Lab takes over from an event similar, which took place recently in Los Angeles, with other sessions planned later in the year in other places, although full details have not yet been confirmed.
For Creators Google has published a guide on how to start creating with VR180 cameras and editing tools.
