A strong typhoon that hit Mie Prefecture before dawn on July 29 is moving slowly across western Japan and bringing record amounts of rain in some areas and rivers in motion
According to the Meteorological Agency of Japan, the crossing of western Japan is expected to continue until July 30, resulting in continuous rainfall and strong winds for many hours.
WAN calls on residents of affected areas to take precautions against heavy rains, strong winds, landslides and floods and to evacuate as soon as possible.
