Reilly, Ward and Santos-Knox Named Shaw's Top CFL Players

TORONTO (July 31, 2018) – Mike Reilly, Lewis Ward and Jovan Santos-Knox named Top Players of the Week in the Shaw CFL. Week 7 of the CFL 2018 Season

All three players were selected by a jury that selectively sends selections to CFL Headquarters. The panel includes former players of the Canadian Football League, Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

QB | MIKE REILLY | EDMONTON ESKIMOS

Quarterback Mike Reilly had a big week as Edmonton scored five touchdowns against the Montreal Alouettes in a 44-23 win on Thursday night.

Reilly had 415 yards, 24 attempts on 32 badists and four touchdowns. He also ran for an extra touchdown and had 26 yards rushing.

Linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox had a big game on Friday in Winnipeg's second consecutive win over the Toronto Argonauts.

Santos-Knox had 10 career defensive tackles in the 40-14 win. The native of Waterbury, CT, took a hat-trick against quarterback James Franklin.

The Waterbury striker, CT, scored just minutes after losing five yards. Former UMbad Minuteman has reduced Franklin twice in the fourth quarter, once for a loss of six yards and again for a nine-yard loss on the two-point conversion of the Argos with only a few minutes to go.

Santos -Knox is second overall in the CFL with 39 defensive tackles including four sacks in 2018, his second year in the CFL.
