Nine days later, after Sharron's state had deteriorated, the police said he had died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators indicted Jason Hadfield, 34, for aggravated badault and robbery in connection with the unprovoked attack. Investigators said the charges should be strengthened.

Global News has learned that just over two weeks earlier, the accused had been charged with another violent badault a few steps away and had been released for $ 250.

Legal documents obtained exclusively by Global News revealed that Hadfield was charged with badault with a weapon, namely a bottle, an badault threatening to use a weapon, namely a pavement and aggression on 27 September.

In that case, Hadfield had been released on condition that he was not in Yonge Dundas Square, where the alleged badault would have occurred, so as not to be in the Gould Street area to the north, from Yonge Street to the west, Dundas Street to the south and Victoria Street. to the east. The Sharron attack took place four blocks east of the attack on Yonge Dundas Square, about 200 meters away.

Hadfield remains in detention and will return to court on November 30.
