MONCTON, NB – Anthony (Lionheart) Smith forced second-ranked Volkan (No Time) Oezdemir to win the UFC Lightweight Main Event in Moncton, NB on Saturday night.
Smith improved to 31-13-0 after strangling in the back forced Oezdemir (15-3-0) to submit to 4:26 of the third round.
"I'm calling Anthony Smith and I want a title shot," he told the crowd after the win.
Smith, 30, has climbed a weight clbad earlier this year. The six-foot-four American has won six of his last seven fights.
Smith and Oezdemir are known to finish the fights early. Between them, they had about thirty first-round finals before the match in Moncton.
In the main event, Michael (The Menace) Johnson (98-13) defeated Artem Lobov (14-15-1) by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) in the final round. a featherweight fight. Both men had a lot of punches and punches in this hotly contested game.

The next big fight is Cormier vs Lewis in UFC 230 in New York.
