Los Angeles Lakers basketball president Magic Johnson has insisted the franchise does not intend to fire head coach Luke Walton.
Johnson, a Lakers legend who returned to the organization last year, reportedly criticized Walton at a meeting last week after watching the club slip to a two-on-five after consecutive losses on the road.
Expectations were heightened after the summer arrival of three-time NBA champion LeBron James, and two wins were won before the 121-107 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, at which Johnson offered his support for Walton.

"My job is to coach this team and the support is good, of course, whether it comes from my father or another coach," Walton said before confronting Toronto.
