A man seriously wounded in Toronto: police – Toronto

Toronto police said that a man was in serious condition after a shooting Monday afternoon.

Toronto Police Officer David Hopkinson said that an officer was driving in the vicinity of Alameda Avenue and Gloucester Grove, near Allen Road and Eglinton Avenue West, around 3:45 pm. when they were reported by someone who said that a man was bleeding a lot.

"The officers rushed to the man," said Hopkinson. "It seemed like he was suffering gunshot wounds."

Paramedics reported that the victim, who is between 20 and 20 years old, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they saw a black vehicle leave the scene.

"It seems that the suspect involved in this shootout came out of a black vehicle just before the shooting, got back into that car and ran away," Hopkinson said.
