Last year, Google announced "Fast Pair" to make it easier to connect wireless headphones to Android devices. Now the company is pushing this technology even further.
Once users have set up the Quick Pair on an Android device connected to their Google Account, other devices connected to the same account will also be able to make a quick pair. This allows Fast Pair to work the same way as Apple's W-chip series, which eliminates the need for users to re-pair their headset with multiple devices connected to the same account.
Google goes even further in 2019 by planning to add this feature to Chome OS. Maybe after that, it will also come on Android TV.
The function works by sending signals via Bluetooth Low Energy which will then invite nearby Android phones running Android 6.0 and later with a notification saying "Press for pairing with the device".
Google promises to work with thousands of manufacturers such as Jaybird, Anker, Bose and many others to bring more technology to their headphones.
