Man suspected of homicide at disco in downtown Calgary says he is innocent when he is arrested – Calgary

A man accused of the death of another man in a disco in downtown Calgary claimed that he had done nothing wrong, whereas he had been arrested Tuesday in front of a police station.

Calgary police on Monday issued a 29-year-old Canada-wide arrest warrant against Cordelius Terry Jackson Harrison, who faces a charge of second-degree murder.

The police were called to the Paranoia disco around 3am Sunday for information reporting an altercation. A victim, identified by the family as Rufus Eldin (37 years old) (and identified by the police as Rofas Ibrahim Sheikeldin), was taken to hospital with very serious injuries and died later. .

Harrison was arrested Tuesday afternoon, but while the police were trying to escort him to the station, he told the media in the parking lot that he was innocent without a message.

"I did not do anything wrong," he told a Global News photographer at the police station.

"I have nothing to risk. I did not do anything wrong.

"I am being arrested right now. It's good. "

Several officers hold him as they try to get him through the doors of the detachment.

"I did not do anything wrong," he said, resisting the officers. "I plead to the public."

Calgary police have said official charges will be laid when Harrison appears before a justice of the peace, which will likely happen on Wednesday.

Cordelius Terry Jackson Harrison pleaded guilty in January to aggravated badault as part of a stabbing attack at the day center that occurred on May 15, 2017.

Another person was taken to the disco on Sunday morning in a state that is not life-threatening, EMS said.
