A woman was found dead after the fire of her apartment in Moncton on Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out at about 1107 at 110 Joyce Avenue, said platoon leader Robert Brine of the Moncton Fire Department.
Fire crews found "light haze smoke" from the second floor window upon arrival.

Brine had no details about the woman, including whether she was the only person living in the apartment.
He added that the firefighters had to close the door of the first floor of the building. Once the fire department arrived on the second floor, they had to go through another door.

"It was the play on fire," he said.
Firefighters took about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire.
Four apartments were evacuated during the fire, but residents were allowed to return about an hour later.
Brine stated that the building had been damaged by smoke and that the room where the woman was found dead had been destroyed.
The Codiac RCMP, paramedics and 15 firefighters from the Moncton Fire Department responded to the fire.
Brine said the investigators are still on hand to try to determine the cause.
