Warning: minor spoilers for Creed II in the first paragraph.
One of my main complaints with Creed II does not that give enough to Rocky Balboa. True, this is not his sequel, but one could think of a movie that brings back one of the most recognizable enemies of the former champion (Ivan Drago, the Russian killer of Apollos Dolph Lundgren), so that the "sons" of the two characters can go forward. -Porte to the ring would be a little more give to his previous namesake, narratively speaking. It does not matter, a decent piece of Creed IIThe story finds Sylvester Stallone's Balboa missing or about to play when times are tough for Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), as the new heavyweight belt holder moves to LA and prepares to face Drago's son, Viktor (Florian & # 39; Big Nasty & # 39; Munteanu) and bring a baby to the world with his best daughter, Bianca (Tessa Thompson).
Maybe this shortage of character development is due to the fact that Rocky's bow is practically over by the end of the first Creed. Ahoy Spoilers When a solid part of your movie revolves around Philly's boxing icon that rediscovers a goal and essentially turns into Adonis's personal Mickey (before fighting against a possible terminal cancer), he there is not much left to do for the character. . That's a lot of moving pictures crammed into a B-Plot.
Well, it seems that Stallone recognizes that Rocky's trip is also over. The star – who is doing another Rambo following the news – asked Instagram to say goodbye by the fireside, with a video where he calls Creed II his "last rodeo" with the character.
Viewing:
Damn.
I would be lying if I did not admit to being a little moved by watching this. Like many others, Rocky Balboa has always counted for me in the world as a film buff; the consummate oppressed who fought against all odds and against multiple challengers caricaturists, while this magnificent theme of Bill Conti unfolded in the speakers. If this is really Rocky's last appearance on the screen, it's a triumphant victory for many viewers (read Leigh's clever badysis Creed IIthe themes here).
Now, if you'll excuse us, we have to comfort Evan for a hot minute.
