Part of 127 Street northwest of Edmonton was closed Wednesday night as a result of a deadly collision between pedestrians.
Shortly before 8:30 pm, police said 127 Street was closed to traffic in both directions, between 127 and 128 avenues "as police investigate a serious collision."
On-site officers confirmed that a pedestrian had been killed. More details about the incident have not been disclosed.
Shortly after 9 pm, several police vehicles were on the scene. Officers could be seen gathering around a dark colored car, the driver's front side being damaged.
The road was to be closed for several hours on Wednesday night.
Police said more information would be released as soon as it was available.
