A winter storm sent a disordered morning across Nova Scotia, putting tens of thousands of people out of power in the province.
The weather has also forced closures and cancellations.
SERVICES:
Nova Scotia Power reports that approximately 199,000 customers are without electricity in the province, and approximately 80,000 customers are affected by human resources management at 12:06 pm.
Halifax public libraries reported that their central libraries and Captain William Spry's branches were open; all the rest is powerless. Sheet Harbor Public Library and J.D. Shatford Public Library will open as planned. The Cole Harbor Public Library will open at 1:00 pm
Several Service Nova centers are closed for the day, including Halifax, Dartmouth and Lower Sackville.
Several leisure centers at HRM are closed.
SCHOOLS:
The Halifax Regional Education Center will close all schools for the rest of the day three hours earlier than usual.
According to the CSAP, clbades are canceled at the Ecole des Beaux-Marais. Buses pick up students and the school will contact parents and guardians.
Clbades are also canceled at the Carrefour school and the Bois-Joli school of the CSAP.
The Newbridge Academy in Dartmouth will close for the day due to power outages.
According to Dalhousie, the campus buildings at Studley, Carleton and Truro are closing immediately, with the exception of essential services staff.

The Saint Mary's University says that clbades are canceled until 5 pm, they will be re-evaluated at 3 pm.
MSVU indicates that clbades are canceled as of noon and that the university will close. Evening clbades could take place if the current comes back.
The NSCC IT, Ivany and Akerley campuses are closed.

The Halifax Mall is without electricity.
Dartmouth Crossing is without electricity, with the exception of Ikea.
Mic Mac Mall is closed due to a power outage.
The Sunnyside Shopping Center is closed until further notice due to the power outage.
A number of NSLC locations are without electricity.
Several other companies could also be closed due to a mbadive power outage affecting their human resource management.

There are delays and cancellations at Stanfield International Airport in Halifax on Thursday morning. Check the airport website for a complete list.
HEALTH CARE:
Baker Dr.'s family-friendly walk-in clinic on Baker Dr. is closed due to a power outage.
Due to a power outage at the Halifax Mall, the Nova Scotia Breast Screening Clinic and the Nova Scotia Breast Screening Program will cancel all appointments until When returning from the current. The phones do not work either.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority reports that "invasive" surgeries at the VG Ophthalmology Clinic are on hold until further notice.
