More than three years after Thelma Krull's disappearance in the north-east of the city, human remains discovered at the end of October in the rural municipality of Taché have been identified as those of the grandmother of Winnipeg, 57 years old.
The Winnipeg police now hope the public can help him find his killer.
Homicide Unit Sgt. Wes Rommel said at a press conference on Thursday that Krull's remains were found on October 27 in a wooded area near the 52 N municipal road and Chemin Perrin road, east of the town. Highway 12 and north of the Trans-Canada Highway.
The remains, confirmed by DNA badysis, were discovered by a hunter about 50 kilometers southeast of where it was last seen on July 11, 2015, at -he declares.

But Rommel would not say if the police knew how Krull had been killed, exactly what had been found, whether she had died near her home in Harbourview South or in the countryside, or even how far away from a road she had been found.
"There have been some efforts (to recover the remains where they were) – that's all I'm going to say," he said.
“/> Thelma Krull was last seen in July 2015.
But Rommel admitted that Krull's discovery was a big step forward in a case in which the police had published little details: a video of Krull during his morning walk on the day of his disappearance and a composite sketch of a man the police would like to talk about.
"This is an important element.We are waiting for a break in this investigation … it is an element of investigation that can advance the investigation."
Rommel said the family had been warned and asked the media to respect their privacy at the time.
"We have not finished," he said, urging anyone in the RM or where Krull was walking to return to July 11, 2015, and, if they remember anything, d & # 39; 39, call the detectives of the homicide at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
