A loss prevention officer from Portage la Prairie was struck by a car after trying to prevent people from leaving with baskets full of unpaid items Sunday night.
The RCMP was called at a Sissons Drive store at 5:10 pm Sunday.
Three people were seen coming out of the store with two trolleys filled with objects. The store's loss prevention agent followed them outside and was hit by their vehicle while they were running away.
On Sunday night, the RCMP spotted a vehicle that matched what the loss prevention officer had seen. They arrested the 26-year-old driver, the only person on board the vehicle, but a subsequent investigation took them to a house where they arrested another man, 28, and a woman, 29.
All three were placed in pre-trial detention. The RCMP continues to investigate.
