Burlington, Ont. – Officials from the city of Burlington, Ontario, said the municipality had been a victim of phishing that had cost more than half a million dollars.
According to them, a staff member made a single transaction on a "falsified bank account" after receiving an e-mail asking to change the banking information of a person with whom the city was already doing business.
