A 48-year-old man was charged after the blast Wednesday afternoon in a residence on Cedar Street in Whitby, wounded three men, Durham Regional Police said.
Police said they had been called to a residence at 119 Cedar Street shortly before 3:30 pm for reports of an explosion.
The victims were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the police said. They have since been released.
