A seven-year-old girl who died Sunday night in Langley, Connecticut, was the victim of a homicide, according to investigators.
The Integrated Mainland Homicide Investigation Team announced that the RCMP was receiving a call at 9:30 pm at a housing complex near 200 Street and 68 Avenue.
When the police arrived, they found Aaliyah Rosa, seven, dead.
A 36-year-old woman related to the investigation was also present. She was taken to the hospital and is still being cared for.
Cpl. Frank Jang with IHIT said that the woman and the girl were known one from the other, but he did not specify how.

Jang says investigators understand what happened that night. it was an isolated incident without risk to the public.
Nevertheless, Jang asked everyone who could have seen Rosa that day or who knew where she was to provide information.
Nobody was accused of his death.
Alicia Keller, who lives in the area where the girl died, said the news was "extremely disturbing".
"I immediately thought of my little girl," she says. "It is very shocking to know that someone can hurt an innocent child."
Keller said the area is usually a quiet neighborhood.
"There are still so many questions," she said. "We'll just have to wait and see what happens."
