One of Edmonton's busiest arteries was closed in both directions in the northwestern part of the city on Friday night as police investigated a fatal accident.
Police reported being called to the area at around 19:45. The collision involved two vehicles: a car and a semi-truck. A person in the car was killed and no other injuries were reported.
Drivers were asked to find other roads because the police said they would wait for the Yellowhead Trail section to be closed indefinitely.
Traffic was significantly saved on 127 Street, where police redirected traffic.
