One motorist died and another was hospitalized after an accident that shut down a highway near Campbell River on Tuesday
Police say a car heading north on Highway 19, near Brown's Bay north of Campbell River. The driver of the car was killed while the driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The incident cut off the two lanes of the Campbell River Expressway to an area 25 kilometers north of the city.
At 6:45 pm, there was no estimated time of reopening and no detours possible. Police said she hoped to reopen a lane to traffic shortly
