The United States still has thousands of soldiers in Afghanistan
An American soldier was killed and two others wounded in what appears to be an internal attack in Afghanistan, according to NATO.
The attack took place Saturday in southern Afghanistan, according to a statement from the NGO Resolute Support.
It was not immediately clear who had led the attack, or if they had been apprehended.
However, the statement said that it was "an apparent attack by insider".
