Winnipeg pastor Christopher Haley will cash big checks for the next 20 years, courtesy of Winnipeg Jets player Patrik Laine.
Christopher Haley was randomly selected to win the grand prize of the Safeway Sobeys Score & Win Contest, which offers winners important cash prizes when a single player scores three, four or five goals in a game.
Haley will receive 20 annual payments of $ 50,000, a total of $ 1 million, after Laine scored five goals against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.
In addition to winning a million dollars, Haley also wins the Wool Award with four goals in one game (a one-time payment of $ 100,000) and a $ 1,000 Sobeys / Safeway gift card, the prize for Wool with three goals in one.
Haley, a longtime pastor of the Berean Baptist Church, said that he and his wife Karen and Haley were still discussing ways to spend this money.
