Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is denying Burnaby South residents the right to political representation in Ottawa, according to NDP MP Peter Julian.

The Prime Minister has 180 days after the release of a seat to call a by-election. The deadline for Brown's siege was in a few days but Stewart resigned on September 14, leaving Trudeau until March to call a vote in Burnaby South.
Traditionally, prime ministers have called by-elections for all vacant seats at the same time and, says Julian, Trudeau breaks a historic precedent for delaying a vote in which NDP leader Jagmeet Singh hopes to win his first seat at the polls. Parliament.

Julian said the NDP would continue to campaign for Singh.
