The 18-year-old driver was released on bail in an accident that occurred in early November. A woman and her young son in Mississauga were released on bail.

Her husband, Sanket Dogra, drove the family's Nissan on Burnhamthorpe Road around 2 am on November 1, hoping to help the toddler fall asleep when he was hit by a large Hyundai. speed.

Arora and Prakrit have not survived the wreckage.

Dogra did it, but barely. He has suffered life-threatening injuries and has been hospitalized ever since. He fell into a coma for several days and underwent several surgeries, including one on the heart, the family said.

Although his condition has improved, he has not yet been informed of his wife and son.

The driver of the Hyundai was also seriously injured in the accident. Considered to be in custody at the hospital, he was eventually released without charge.

"They originally arrested him for drunk operation, but he was released unconditionally for these charges," Const said. Danny Marttini said.

"So, whatever the conclusions of the investigation, these obviously did not correspond to this accusation."

That changed on Tuesday when the police announced that they had arrested him again.

Evan Campbell, of Orillia, was charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing death and one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

Wearing a brown sweatshirt and gray U of T pants, Campbell appeared in front of a judge in a Brampton courtroom, where he was released on bail.

He was seen leaving the courthouse on crutches.

He must return to court on January 14 at 9 am

On Tuesday, in the hours that followed the announcement of the police act, Dogra's brother-in-law said that the evolution of the case had "something relieved" for the family in mourning.

"We are relieved to know that something is being done about it. We hope to receive this kind of news for a long time, "said Vishal Sarangal at CTV News Toronto.

A funeral for the mother and son took place two weeks ago.
