Danny O. Flaherty is an Irish-American musician who lives in Texas, but his latest album deals with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment

. "Many of these stories touch your soul," said O. Flaherty.

O. Flaherty heard about the Royal Newfoundland Regiment for the first time from his wife, Lisa Codner.

Codner is from Torbay. His great-uncle, Leo O'Neill, was a member of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment who served during the First World War. She and her family filled O & # 39; Flaherty on the role of the regiment during this conflict.

"And I said to myself," it's an incredible story, "he said.

"And I decided to write a song about it."

Through research, a friendship develops

O. Flaherty embarks on research by reading as many books as he can find on Newfoundland and the First World War During this During the research phase, he contacted Gary Browne, the police and military historian in St. John's, who quickly boarded to support the work of O & # 39; s. Flaherty.

"I was so happy when he told me what he was doing," said Browne

O. Flaherty created a video for the album's title track, using archival photographs from the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.

Browne is delighted with the album. Browne added that all profits from the album will be donated to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Museum at Canadian Forces Base St. John's
