UPDATE: Alec Baldwin was placed in custody in New York on Friday and charged with badault and harbadment after apparently hitting a man during a brawl around a parking lot in Manhattan. Baldwin denied the charge and characterized the situation as "blatant misrepresentation".

A police source confirmed Variety Baldwin was arrested Friday after an argument with another adult man about a parking spot in the West Village. Baldwin reportedly beat the other man and was later arrested, while the victim was reportedly taken to a local hospital. Baldwin has since been released.

Baldwin wrote in a statement via Twitter: "The statement that I hit someone on a parking spot is false."

1- Normally, I would not comment on something as distorted as the story today.
However, the statement that I hit someone on a parking spot is false.
I wanted to mention it on the record.
I realize that it has become a sport to score people with so many negative points

2- Negative accusations and allegations of defamation as much as possible for entertainment purposes by clickbait.

Fortunately, no matter how much reverberation echoes, the statements are not true.

Baldwin is back on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" as President Donald Trump. NBC did not comment on the arrest. He also has "Match Game" and a talk show "The Alec Baldwin Show" on ABC. ABC stated that it would continue to air on Sunday as scheduled and had no other comment.

This is not the first time Baldwin is in trouble with the law. He was charged with battery, then acquitted in a case involving a photographer in the 1990s. He was arrested for disorderly conduct in 2014.

Baldwin was also photographed during an apparent public altercation with paparazzi in New York in 2013. A police report however has not been filed in this case.

Trump, who has been arguing with Baldwin in the past about the actor's "SNL" print, said "I wish him good luck" when asked about the arrest on Friday afternoon by journalists, according to NBC.

Baldwin's representatives declined to comment on the arrest.
