If you like listening to music with your Echo smart speakers, but want more control over how it works, you're in luck. Amazon adds an equalizer feature to its smart speakers allowing basic, mid and treble settings.
The Echo range of smart speakers from Amazon is an easy way to listen to music when you move around the house. Depending on the kinds of music you like to listen to, however, this may not sound so great. Amazon is trying to improve the reading experience this week with a new feature.
As reported by The Verge, Amazon is deploying an equalizer (EQ) feature for the full range of Echo smart speakers. It will allow independent adjustment of bbad, midrange and treble in a range of six decibels, plus or minus. Settings can be changed by voice commands to Alexa, using the Alexa app, or on-screen controls available on Echo Show and Echo Spot .
In addition to allowing you to adjust playback, your EQ settings will be recalled and used for all music played. It's a shame that Amazon does not offer the ability to create presets in order to switch between equalization settings depending on the type of audio being listened to.
Developers will also have access to the EQ feature, which means that values can be changed for new and existing Echo-compatible hardware from other manufacturers such as Sonos.
The EQ feature should be available by the end of the week on your Echo devices, but only US owners will be able to adjust the levels with voice commands. This will change in the near future, but the focus will remain on the English-speaking markets.
