TORONTO – An Ontario police watchdog has been called in to investigate a fatal accident in Toronto involving a motorcycle.
The Special Investigations Unit said that a Toronto police officer had stopped a motorcycle late Sunday afternoon while she was heading west to the airport. Highway 401.
However, the SIU indicated that as the officer approached the bike, he suddenly turned around and headed east in the westbound lanes;
The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was declared dead on the scene.
The SIU is an independent body that investigates reports of death, serious injury or allegations of badual badault involving the police.
