Apple Music now has more subscribers than Spotify in the United States [Report]

Apple Music now has more paying subscribers in the United States than Spotify, according to confidential information shared with DigitalMusicNews. Both companies would have more than 20 million subscribers in the United States with Apple Music just a little ahead.

The source, a leading US distributor, shared a report detailing the number of subscribers to several streaming music services, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and Sirius XM. This report now ranks Apple Music first in the US, at least among music streaming services on demand (Sirius XM Satellite Radio, which operates exclusively in North America, has more than 33 million subscribers) .
