The Toronto Argonauts are changing the game behind McLeod Bethel-Thompson instead of James Franklin at quarterback when they will receive the Ottawa Redblacks Thursday night at BMO Field.

The 30-year-old has never started a game in the CFL and has only played in two matches last season with the Argos. , completing two pbades for 10 yards.
UCLA and Sacramento State products had relays in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, the Miami Dolphins, the Minnesota Vikings, the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bethel-Thompson signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in September 2016 and was released a month later without participating in any matches. He signed with the Argonauts in May 2017.
Franklin, 27, took over from veteran Ricky Ray after a serious neck injury in the second week. In his first game as a starter, Franklin led the Argonauts to victory over the Edmonton Eskimos in Week 4, but has since struggled with three consecutive losses.
The Missouri product threw for 236 yards with three interceptions and no touchdowns in a 40-14 loss to the Blue Bombers on Friday night.
Franklin threw for 967 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions in six games this season.
The defending Gray Cup champions are 1-5 and last in the East Division.
