Atlus teases the next stage of the Etrian Odyssey series

As we discovered in April, Atlus will be released Etrian Odyssey X for 3DS in Japan on August 2nd. Regarded as the final output of the 3D portable system, the company has now revealed that the series will not end soon – with the next leg in the dungeon-crawling RPG series receiving a special trailer.

The last title Etrian Odyssey on the 3DS, Shigeo Komori, has provided the following message on the future of the series:

Etrian Odyssey X is the only one in the world. culmination of the Etrian Odyssey Series up here, as well as the last Etrian Odyssey game for 3DS. But of course, this means the last "for 3DS". The latest title for 3DS is nothing but an announcement for the start of the next step.

We are now moving rapidly towards a completely new world for the Etrian Odyssey series that everyone has supported until now. We work hard to achieve this pbadion as quickly and accurately as possible, so please continue to support us.

As stated earlier, Etrian Odyssey (known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan) started on the Nintendo DS, before moving to 3DS with titles like Etrian Odyssey III and IV . The gameplay is designed around the concept of having two screens.
