The two men teamed up for the opening game of their team in Wednesday's win over PSV in the Champions League
Ernesto Valverde hailed the deal between Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele after the two men helped Barcelona defeat Ajax in the Champions League.
Messi became the most prolific scorer for only one club in the competition since he scored one and helped the other in a 2-1 win that confirmed the Barca as Group B winner.
The skipper's opening match was a moment of inspiration in the penalty area, which moved away from several markers to make room for a predatory goal in front of Jeroen Zoet, thus making a record of 106 goals in the Champions League for the Argentine striker.

The young winger Dembele provided the pbad being edited, in the continuity of his recent rebirth.
Goal reported earlier this week that Dembele had asked Barcelona to allow him to leave the club in January, but the 21-year-old was on target in Atletico Madrid's draw and impressed in Eindhoven.
"I'm not quite sure how Messi scored that goal," Valverde said.
"But he and Dembele have a great combination on the right, and between them you can count on them to score in almost any situation.
"My team created a lot of dangerous opportunities too, but it was a game too open."
Barca thanked Messi for having moved them after an hour of play under which they could have been punished by the hosts.
He gave the free kick on which Gerard Pique doubled the advantage, ensuring that Luuk de Jong's late header would only be a consolation.
"We had problems in the first 20 minutes," admitted Valverde.
"There are certain moments in which you have to know how to suffer, they were encouraged and the match was difficult, but we were first in the group and we are happy."
