BC Wildfire says Kamloops wildfires are "withheld"

On Sunday night, BC Wildfire Service reports that 545-hectare forest fires east of Kamloops are "withheld"

The Provincial Forest Fire Service reports that it there will be no further growth

It reports that the fire is being held because of the hard work of their staff and that of local fire departments.

On Sunday, 103 ground boots worked to contain the fire and put out the hot spots.

A small team also worked tirelessly to save a family of eagles. The tree holding the eagle nest caught fire on Friday

The BC Ministry of the Environment has issued a special declaration on air quality for the city of Kamloops and surrounding communities as thermometers continue to rise and smoke flowing in the air

There has been no confirmation to the statement of a man that the fire had been triggered by a contractor working in the area.
