On October 23, the Delhi High Court ordered the CBI to maintain the status quo on criminal procedure. initiated by her against her special director Rakesh Asthana, who disputed the information on the corruption charges filed by the FIR.

At the hearing, the IWC said that the charges against Mr. Asthana were serious and that the agency was investigating the case and was likely to add other offenses in the case. RIP.
The counsel for Mr. Asthana's lawyer, Amrendra Sharan, said that it was a case of illegal registration of FIR against the director special, based on the statement of the accused. The lead counsel, Dayan Krishnan, appeared for Mr. Kumar for canceling the FIR against him.
Asthana's plea
Mr. Asthana also requested that the IWC be instructed not to take any coercive action against him. He presented the petition on October 23, a few hours after Mr. Kumar approached the court, who agreed to hold an emergency hearing.
The two petitions were mentioned before Chief Justice Rajendra Menon, who badigned the case to the hearing before Judge Waziri.
On October 22, the CBI arrested Mr. Kumar as part of allegations of corruption involving Mr. Asthana.
Mr. Kumar, who was the investigator in a case involving the meat exporter Moin Qureshi, was arrested on counterfeit charges for the registration of the man's statement. Sathish Sana, who had claimed to have paid a bribe to get compensation in the case.
In his statement, Mr. Sana reportedly stated that in June 2018 he had discussed his case with party member Rajya Sabha of the Telugu Desam Party, MCM. I had the impression that the investigation against me is over, "he said.
The IWC has now alleged that Mr. Kumar fabricated this statement as "an afterthought … to corroborate Asthana's baseless allegations against IBC Director Verma at the CVC (Central Vigilance Commissioner)" . They said the agency was also reviewing the alleged role of the other members of the special investigation team led by Mr. Asthana.
Mr Asthana, who had been hired by the agency for corruption charges in connection with an unprecedented action, had complained about Mr Verma.
Kumar produced in court
Earlier in the day, the CBI introduced Mr. Kumar to a Delhi court and asked for custody for 10 days. The agency told IWC Special Judge Santosh Snehi Mann that documents and evidence had been found after searches of his office and residence. He claimed that Mr. Kumar was part of an extortion team being investigated.
Mr. Kumar's lawyer objected to this request and filed a bail action in court.
The IWC has asked the court to add a few additional articles in this FIR against the accused, including Mr. Kumar. The purpose of this case is to deflect the investigation in a separate case against Qureshi, the IWC official arrested in court said.
