City Unveils Electronic Tabbing Machines to Use During a Plebiscite

[ad_1]

When Calgarians vote in next week's Olympic plebiscite, they will place it in one of more than 200 electronic tabulator systems the city has put in place to count the vote results.

On November 13, Calgarians will be asked if they are for or against Calgary hosting the Winter Olympics of 2026 – although voting has already started by postal ballot. The advance poll will also take place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11h to 19h.

The city has already received more than 5,000 postal ballots.

"We are ready for Calgarians to vote. We have been ready since the beginning of the correspondence votes that took place on October 1, "said City Returning Officer Laura Kennedy. "We have staff. We have provided additional staff at all our polling stations. We have custodial staff that we are training now.

"We hope this vote will be a better experience for voters and for campaigns."

160 polling stations will be available on November 13th. Polling stations will also be available for voting. Kennedy says that there will also be a strategy to capture the vote of homeless people. # Calgary2026
