The list of Netflix Marvel members continues to shrink.
The streaming giant has canceled Daredevil – the first of his Marvel shows to be premiered on the platform – after three seasons. The drama starring Charlie Cox is the third Marvel series to be canceled at Netflix in recent weeks. Iron fist and Luke Cage. Only Jessica Jones and The punisher remains on Netflix as his relationship with Marvel continues to deteriorate. The cancellation comes as the parent company of Marvel, Disney, launches its own rival Netflix, Disney +. This direct-to-consumer service will feature a list of high-profile Marvel series, including a focus on Loki, the god of evil, with Tom Hiddleston. Disney previously announced plans to shoot all of its Marvel feature films from Netflix and host them exclusively on Disney +. The relationship between Marvel and Netflix has been tense by the negotiations on Luke Cage. This week alone, Netflix signed an eight-figure copyright agreement with author Roald Dahl, with the broader goal of creating multiple animated TV series based on works such as Charlie and the chocolate factory.
