Deer Lake youth charged with impaired driving after striking and injuring policeman | Local | New

An 18 year old Deer Lake man was charged after a police officer was injured in the line of duty last weekend.

Shortly after 1 pm last Sunday, the Corner Brook RCMP were investigating a complaint in the village of Humber.

Two police officers were arresting when a vehicle pbaded and narrowly missed a marked police unit. The vehicle struck one of the police, causing minor injuries.

The driver took off, but was found shortly thereafter and was suspected of having been weakened.

He was charged with impaired driving by a vehicle, with dangerous driving with a motor vehicle, armed badault and a police officer.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on November 27.
