During Caroline Bedol's swan song episode Under the bridgeKate Chastain and her chef had an unconventional separation. Bedol decided to leave My Seanna between two charters after discussing his feelings with deckhand Ashton Pienaar.
She told Pienaar that she felt as if Chastain and Josiah Carter's second stew were kind to her face, but they spoke by making fun of her behind her back. Pienaar's advice was to make the necessary changes for herself. So, after telling the crew that she gave him two days' notice, Bedol's situation changed drastically the next day.
Bedol drops the bomb
She says, in front of the whole team, that Chastain and Carter "stopped him" and as a leader, Chastain could have shown him some respect. Chastain looks completely over, but Bedol says she's not just going to sit and take any abuse. She says she is confused because she has had positive feedback from Bedol in the past.
Chastain remains calm and professional during the meeting. She thanked Bedols for his time on the ship and for at least his notice. In an in camera interview, Chastain said, "These are shots. His embarrbading show, blaming Josiah and me, unleashed my anger. "
Bedol changes suddenly in the opinion
In the morning, the crew begins to clean and prepare the yacht. But Bedol is MIA. Carter puts his head in Bedol's bunk to see if she's ready to help. But she says she has changed her mind to give them two days and she is not working. In an interview out of the camera, Bedol reported having nightmares about Chastain and Carter the night before and could not spend more time with them. Carter seems confused and when Bedol asks him to leave, he politely goes away. But sarcastically, "You put us really well."
Chastain is at the end of his mind
When Carter tells Chastain that Bedol refuses to work, Chastain says, "She's not a guest. She is not paid to sleep here. She adds, "I do not know what I could have done for Caroline. When she is angry at her mother, I said, do not worry, we have you. When his ankle is injured, rest, we'll take care of it. She adds when Bedol had a sinus infection: "OK, Josiah and I will do it. This adds an insult to injury. "
And does this require Bedol to leave
Chastain is at its boiling point. But the way it's conducted can be debatable. She tries to open the door of the Bedol cabin, which is locked. She says she does not know if locking the door is still legal. "Who gave that lock?" Chastain thought aloud. Chastain tells Bedol to get up and pack, because she has to leave the boat in an hour.
Bedol remains silent, which annoys Chastain. "Are you going to leave one day," asks Chastain. Carter and Chastain find a Bluetooth speaker and place it in front of Bedol's door. "Let's find the most wonderful expulsion song of all time," says Chastain. "I'm glad you're leaving," adds Chastain. Chastain and Carter make fun of obnoxious music. Chastain says that there is a demon in the speaker, to which Carter says, "There is a demon in the room".
As the music sounds in front of Bedol's door, the crew looks disturbed and uncomfortable. Finally, Ross's (new) boss Inia turns off the speaker.
But did she manage it professionally?
In an in-camera interview, Chief Adrian Martin said, "I think Kate has this thing that scares people, which I do not agree with. Not cool. Inia seems bored to say that Carter is an instigator. When Inia goes off the speaker, Carter tells him to stop. Bedol leaves her room and Inia comforts her. "Caroline made her decision and that's her decision," Inia said in an off camera interview. "Does it affect them too, of course, it affects them. But there is no room for bullying. Clear and simple. "
Chastain and Carter appeared on Watch what's going on live After the episode, host Andy Cohen questions the couple about the departure of Bedol. He wonders why Chastain placed the speaker in front of Bedol's door. Chastain says she could have opened the door and pressed pause. She adds that quitting smoking in mid-season, while her weight was humiliating. The public voted strongly for Chastain and Carter as well.
Captain Lee weighs
Captain Lee Rosbach, while affirming his loyalty to Chastain, said on his blog that making music was not a good idea. "I do not agree at all with the fact that radio is spreading in its neighborhoods. I think there was a better way to do it. If Caroline had told you that she would leave as soon as she had a chance to talk to me, I'm sure all that music work would have been avoided, but she did not do it. "
He adds, "That being said, and from what I've seen in this episode and in previous episodes, I now see what you're up against and I understand how frustrated you are. If only I knew all this earlier, I might have helped ease the pressure for both of you. "
