But a few days later, Sohi was holding a new position as Minister of Natural Resources as part of the reshuffle from his cabinet by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
. A federal grant for the city's new collector though, Braun predicted a receptive reception, but also touched on the sudden change in ministers.
"My only disappointment is that the minister has changed," he said. "We had Minister Sohi here a week ago and we talked about this and a few others and he was very enthusiastic. So we have to work with a different minister, but we are certainly ready for that.
Braun and city director Peter Sparanese met Sohi and local Liberal MP Jati Sidhu. A row of back-to-back cars was arranged on the meeting table to illustrate the congestion on Route 1.
Thanks to @MPJatiSidhu @mayorhenrybraun and the rest of @City_Abbotsford City Council for the warm welcome. We enjoyed our conversation and look forward to working together to invest in the #infra that the community wants and needs. pic.twitter.com/t5ElfeWAY6
