Drake's face at City Hall receives lukewarm criticism

Drake's fifth album, Scorpion has been a great success since it was released on Friday, but an advertisement for the record appearing in a historic building in the singer's home town is all the rage.

Universal Music Canada tweeted Friday night photos of Drake's face and the name of his new album screened on one of the towers of Toronto City Hall, with an advertisement for Apple Music appearing on the other turn.

"Spotted: #Drake taking the direction of #Toronto 'City Hall, "The company tweeted, asking people to name their favorite track of Scorpion .

The care was not warmly received by at least one person working inside the building: Toronto City Councilor Joe Cressy.

"What is it? The town hall is not and should not be a private advertising site. It does not matter whether Drake or not this is not the case, "tweeted Cressy.

Neither Cressy nor Universal Music Canada immediately returned the Star's requests for comment on Saturday.

Other people tweeted various criticisms, including that the idea was "horrible", "ridiculous" and wondered if the announcement had been projected on the building without approval.

But there were also those who took umbrage not with advertising, but with Cressy's reaction.

"OMG Some of you, the counselors, have to stop complaining about stupid little things and let the people of Toronto have fun," Cressy said in a tweet. "You could be more happy if you do not find everything so offensive. "
