Drunk driving charge pronounced after an accident kills a man

A 19-year-old Stratford man died of a single-vehicle accident in western Stratford.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old man from Burlington, was charged with impaired driving causing death.

The accident took place around Embro Road and Erie Street around 3:30 am Sunday.

Officials said the car, a Chrysler 300, was traveling on Embro Road before hitting a boulevard and resting on a lawn on Erie Street.

There were 3 pbadengers in the vehicle, including the Stratford man who died at the local hospital.

The other 2 pbadengers were also taken to a local hospital and are currently in fair condition.

The accused Burlington man is currently in custody for a bail hearing.

The incident is still under investigation.
