UPDATE TWO: We still do not know what caused the failure of the EA server.

The publisher said that he was "aware" of problems more than an hour ago but has not yet released any updates.

EA had planned no maintenance for this afternoon, which means that it is highly likely that the current problems are not intentional.

UPDATE ONE: EA servers have been down for over an hour because players still can not access the online suites of many popular titles on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

At the present time, it is unclear why EA servers are experiencing a crash.

Reports began to appear just before 1 pm this afternoon, with online features not working as expected.

At the time of writing, EA has not provided an update on when issues will be resolved.

ORIGINAL HISTORY: EA admitted that the players had "connectivity problems" and insisted that he was working on resolving them.

The game publisher said: "We are aware of the connectivity issues that affect players right now and we are working to resolve them. Thank you."

In addition, Corey Andress, head of EA's global community, echoed such a statement and said the publisher was currently investigating ".

He said: "The team is aware of the current problem of server failures for some players and is currently conducting an investigation.

"Will update as soon as possible.

"Additional note: Connectivity issues are currently in many titles, so it impacts other EA games and services.

"Once again, we are there and I will update it if I hear more."

A number of players have used Twitter to express their disappointment with the server crash.

One of them said: "EA servers are down for PS4 or is it just me ???"

Another wrote: "One day off, we want to play on FIFA 19 and FUT and EA servers are down.

"Come on guys, sort this !!!"

A third said: "EA servers are out of service for everyone, you can not do anything except wait."

It seems that the downfall is weighing on extremely popular titles such as FIFA 19 and the series of first-person shooter Battlefield.

A FIFA fan posted on his PlayStation 4 system the image of an error screen stating that he "had lost the connection" with the EA servers.

The message said, "You lost your connection to the EA servers.

"Log back in to access online features."

And another account stated that FIFA's supplementary application 19 was not working properly either.

They posted an error message inviting them to reconnect to a console or PC for access.

Down Detector, an independent controller, has logged more than 1,000 reports that EA servers were experiencing problems at the same time.

In addition, a map of the site showing affected areas seems to show that the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands are the most affected by the problems.

More soon…
