Cody Eakin scored twice, Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots for his third shutout of the season and the Vegas Golden Knights beat Anaheim Ducks 5-0 on Wednesday night.
Alex Tuch and Nick Holden each scored a goal and an badist, Tomas Hyka also scored and Max Pacioretty added two badists to help the Golden Knights equal their all-time high. Fleury won her 412th career win, joining four others for a 24th place finish.
John Gibson started for Anaheim and allowed three goals on 12 shots before being shot at 7:19 of the second period. Ryan Miller arrived and stopped 11 of the 13 shots directed at him.
The Ducks entered their second game against Vegas this season after limiting their opponents to two goals or less in 10 games, but they could not control the second line of the Golden Knights, Tuch, Eakin and Pacioretty having each two points.
Tuch started things when he took a rebound and overtook him in front of Gibson at the end of the first period. Tuch scored one point in his last four games and seven of 11 games he played after missing the first eight games.
Vegas won 2-0 just 25 seconds into the second when Tuch fed Eakin, who shot Gibson from a wrist shot over the glove.
Holden was credited with the following goal after his shot from the goal-scoring point, where Ducks center Adam Henrique accidentally placed the puck past Gibson, which was fired immediately afterwards.
But Eakin, very red, made a breakaway and scored his seventh of the season with a setback on Miller's glove two minutes later, bringing the score to 4-0. Eakin, whose career-high is 19 goals, is about to score 38 goals.
Hyka scored his first goal of the season by placing himself on the left and beating the Miller stick.
